WAAL began with a refusal.
A refusal to accept a world that measures human value by status, visibility, or convenience.
A refusal to watch survival be dismissed once it stops being entertaining.
A refusal to treat people as disposable simply because they fall outside systems of power.
“We are all liars” is not an accusation.
It is a recognition of how people adapt to survive.
We hide.
We perform.
We minimize ourselves to belong.
Not because we are wrong —
but because the world often rewards silence and conformity over truth.
WAAL exists to interrupt that structure.
Not by spectacle.
Not by trend.
But by recognition.
WHEN NO ONE SHOWED UP
After rehab, when I needed help the most, many of the people who promised they would be there weren’t.
What hurt wasn’t only the absence —
it was the unwillingness to understand what I had lived through.
The expectation that I should be “fine” now.
The quiet pressure to move on without context.
That loneliness is not a personal failure.
It is a cultural one.
WHY THIS HAD TO BECOME A PLATFORM
I built spaces online to reduce shame, to share honestly, to make survival visible.
When those spaces were attacked and taken from me, it clarified something:
Support is often conditional.
Care disappears when it no longer benefits someone else.
WAAL is not built on popularity or permission.
It is built to protect truth, community, and continuity —
even when it is inconvenient.
WHY THE BODY BECAME THE CANVAS
Fashion became the medium because it is where judgment begins.
Before words.
Before context.
Before empathy.
I began imagining what it would look like if survival was visible —
if people wore the evidence of what they had lived through instead of hiding it.
Pain becomes form.
Survival becomes structure.
Truth becomes something worn with intention.
This is not decoration.
It is witness.
